*clears throat*
It all started on a beautiful sunny Monday afternoon... birds were chirping, the sun was out, all was right for a matchbox twenty concert... ok someone kick me. :) Time to get down to the good stuff hehe. I'm sure it's gonna get long, so my apologies in advance. :)
So me and Laura first decided to stake out the mall in hopes that we would run into a band member or two. We were wrong, but we did manage to see a zebrastriped cellphone cover (zebra phone RAAAAWRR!), a mob boss, two homeless people, and the cute popcorn guy that I TOTALLY would have talked to and you know it Laura!!
Then we went to the arena!! We had no idea where we were going, but we spotted the buses and knew we were home... lmao. So we were chillin outside and blah blah blah, saw Jason and talked to him for a lil while, and then the stupid Toledo people decided to barracade the whole freakin thing with yellow caution tape. Like this is a harmful place, whatever. But Jason told us it was because if the guys see us then they will want to come talk to us and sign stuff, and since they had a long trip ahead of them to Moline that night they needed to get moving quickly.
So they barracaded the whole thing, and we decided to get our tickets at the box office. So artchickk got hers first, and they were 2nd row, towards adam a little. So I started getting scared, like what if ours weren't that good??? So Laura gets our tickets, and they're second row, almost dead center. Holy crap, I was soooooo damn excited. I couldn't believe it!! So we hung out some more outside and it was cold, and then me and Laura ran to the car and left stuff there (including my camera, which they said we weren't allowed to have). So we get in and they end up NOT doing full body searches like they said they were going to, and I'm sitting there and I'm like ok, I'm going to get my camera (this is 10 minutes before Lifehouse goes on). So I get a pass to go outside and I get it, and on my way back in the guy actually tells me to open my bag so he can look and I'm in a huge hurry so I start pulling all sorts of stuff out to hide my camera and he goes you don't have to show me everything, go ahead lol.
So I get there and halfway down the stairs the lights go out and LIFEHOUSE comes on! Damn... LOL I almost tripped down the stairs hehehe. So I get to my seat and we're standing and jamming to LH, and Sergio sees me and smiles cuz he remembered us, and I smiled and waved to him and enjoyed the music. :) They were really really good. :)
So then me and Laura and Artchickk go to find the table with four chairs that we knew would be out there as always. So we do, and we're like first in line, and then they come out and I get my pix out and my liner (which I finally remembered to bring), and Sergio was first and he's like signing my liner and stuff and I show him my pic of me and him and he's like cool (or whatever, lol i don't remember) and so I get down to in front of like Jason and Serg goes hey, do you have an extra one of those, and I was like yeah at home, do you want this one? And he goes yeah! So I gave it to him and he kept it there in front of him... and then I got to Rick and he looked at us and goes how many shows have you guys been to?? and I was like four. :) So then after we got everything signed me and Laura waited by Sergio's side of the table a little bit away until they were done, and after they signed everything he goes hey, what's your name?? And I was like Kelly, and he wrote on the back of the picture Kelly, 2001. Or at least that's all I saw, there might have been March on there too. And I told him he had to take good care of it. :) And so like he went to like shake hands and then it was like aw hell, and I got my Sergio hug. :D And then LMAO, I didn't know Laura got one too hahahaha. I was too out there to realize it. :) We made sure to tell them that we'd be in Hamilton.
So then we missed half of Everclear LMAO. It sounds awful, but they don't change twhat they talk about between songs very much, and it just gets monotonous. I dunno, I think they're allright, just not a band I'd wanna see four times lol. :)
So then we're waiting for mbt to come on... and we find out that supposedly the first 5 rows are gonna get to come up to the barracade... so all of the sudden people are getting up there and me and Laura smoosh up to the VERY front (I was against the thing, and Laura was RIGHT behind me) RIGHT in front of where ADAM was going to be!! OMG, Laura was so happy, and duh, so was I. lol.
So let me tell you, the show was AMAZING. It was pretty normal, same set list as before... Adam ROCKS to be by during a show!! We showed him our GD passes and he smiled and made faces at us. :) Adam rocks!!! In the middle of Rest Stop some poor girl by us got decked in the back of the head by some other girl, and Chad almost jumped the thingie to get to her... (sidenote: at the end of the show Rob came over and signed a shirt for the girl that got hit - that was really sweet). So the set continues... So then all of the sudden they played Lonely Weekends in the middle of the regular set and we're like ummmmm ok that's weird... but Adam thought it was way cool that we knew the words to Lonely Weekends cuz he kept making faces at us and nodding during that song.
So they finish the set... and it's time for the encore. And Rob comes out, only Rob with his guitar and we're like oh.. my.. god.. and he starts telling us that this is a song for all the diehard matchbox twenty fans and it's something you can only hear at a live show or find on the internet, and we had NO idea what he was gonna play... and Laura was pulling on my bag from behind me and all of the sudden he starts Dear Joan, and I swear to god I have never been so close to crying at a concert in my life. I know Laura was crying behind me... and I was singin along and I remember not being able to sing at one point because my voice was all shaky. I've never been so in AWE at a concert ever before... so then they finish the set and everything like normal (Push, B&W) and it was amazing as usual. :)
So then me and Laura book it outside and hang around. Jason told us before that the boys wouldn't be out after this show, so we took our chances with Lifehouse knowing they probably WOULD be out. I guess Jason was already on the bus sleeping (note: Jason's wife is gorgeous - we saw her while they boys were signing inside). So Chad came out with Rick and Rick chilled outside for awhile, and we waited around, and then my buddy Serg came out!! Yay! So we got Serg before anyone else did and I was just like hey! and we talked to him awhile, and we were just like, chillin with Serg. It was cool. LMAO. And I got a new pic with him and everything, and then when he was going to leave he gave me and Laura hugs again (sergio hugs ROCK!). And I told him we'd see him in a month! :) Then we went over and got pix with Rick again, and Sergio gave us some posters and him and Rick signed them too. Then they got on the bus and went bye bye!!! :(
So then we walked around the arena and saw Jason one more time and he goes now those are diehard fans!! i've seen them LOTS of times!! and then he got on the bus and then we saw Artchickk again, and met Krystal123 and her sis! They rock. Oh yeah, and I made my three 13 year old boyfriends (lets see... Kyle, Anthony, and ummmm I don't remember the third one lol) who first believed that I was the 5th member of Lifehouse because of my GD pass, and then they believed that I was one of the members of Lifehouse's girlfriends because I dunno, I guess it looked weird that Sergio knew us or something. :) But it was cold and the boys didn't come out... :( So then we went to our car and drove home after seeing the buses off and annoying the hell out of the security guard (hehehe sorry about that dude). :)
So yeah, this was the best matchbox twenty night I've EVER had... nothing compares to seeing Dear Joan... it was breathtaking. Hopefully my pix come out so I have some to share with you guys tomorrow!!!
